“Pi Day” receives Special Mention in The Pushcart Prize 2011: Best of the Small Presses.

"Blunt Not the Heart" is now in print as the winner of Phoebe's 2009 Winter Fiction Contest. Contest judge Benjamin Percy has this to say about the winning story:

"I admired "Blunt Not the Heart" for its strongly realized characters, its striking treatement of child abuse, its expertly interwoven plot lines, its topical backdrop of rust belt deterioration, and the weirdly resonant transformation of its slump-shouldered hero."

"Ars Poetica" wins the Yalobusha Review's Barry Hannah Fiction Prize. Contest judge Padgett Powell describes the story as "deft, true to Turkey and its American expats, and frightening."
